Nick Fuentes likes to present himself as the voice of America First. In reality, he is the poster boy for everything that threatens the American experiment. He is a Holocaust minimizing, Hitler praising white nationalist who has turned open racism into a business model for young angry men who are looking for someone to blame.

Nick Fuentes: Bigotry brought to you by a guy who is literally part Mexican.
The irony is glaring. By his own account and from reporting on his background, Fuentes has Mexican roots through a grandparent and claims Mexican, Italian and Irish ancestry. Yet he spends his days fantasizing about a white ethno state and mocking people whose parents and grandparents walked a path very similar to his own. Instead of gratitude that America opened the door for his family, he spits on the very diversity that made his life possible in the first place.
Take him in his own words. In one clip Fuentes brags that he does not want to live around Black neighbors and does not want his future white children marrying Black spouses. He calls this a racial preference and then dares people to call him racist. In another rant he defends segregation and sneers that complaints about Jim Crow and separate water fountains are no big deal. This is not edgy humor. It is the same old bigotry that once told Black soldiers they were good enough to die for this country but not good enough to drink from the same tap.

He saves special venom for interracial families. When talking about Vice President J D Vance, Fuentes showed viewers a picture of Vance with his Indian American wife and their biracial children and raged that he would not vote for a man with a mixed race family. He mocked her heritage and the appearance of the family. That is not policy debate. That is a man so obsessed with blood and caste that he cannot stand the sight of a successful American family that does not fit his fantasy of racial purity.
Then there is the Nazi fandom. Fuentes has spent years downplaying the Holocaust. He claims people talk about it only to oppress white people. He has praised Adolf Hitler on his broadcasts and even called Hitler cool. When someone cheers the man responsible for the industrial murder of millions, including American soldiers who died fighting the Third Reich, they are not America First. They are enemies of everything our flag is supposed to represent.

His hatred does not stop at race. Fuentes has used degrading slurs for women and pushed the disgusting idea that many women secretly want to be raped. At the same time he whips up his male followers against LGBTQ Americans and against basic civil equality. He is not defending tradition or family. He is attacking the basic idea that every citizen, no matter their background, should be treated with dignity under the law.
All of this is fundamentally un American. The United States is not a blood and soil nation built around a single tribe. We are a country of many peoples who chose to live under the same Constitution. Black and white, Latino and Asian and many others. Our active duty military reflects that reality. Soldiers from every background serve in the same units, bleed on the same ground and are buried under the same flag. When someone like Fuentes preaches racial separation, he is attacking the very cohesion that keeps our war fighters alive.
America will only ever be as strong as the people who build it up instead of tearing it down. The bricklayers and nurses, the soldiers and shop owners, the kids from every neighborhood who sign up for the same dream, they are the ones who make this country exceptional. Nick Fuentes stands against them. He wants young Americans to believe that their neighbor is their enemy if they are the wrong color, the wrong religion or love the wrong person.
We should be clear and unapologetic. White nationalism is not a legitimate faction of American conservatism. It is a betrayal of the American idea. Fuentes can wrap himself in the flag all he wants, but his racism, his Holocaust denial and his sneering contempt for multiracial America put him on the side of the enemies our grandparents fought in World War Two. If we care about this country, in all its messy and beautiful diversity, we have a duty to reject him and everyone who tries to drag the United States back into the darkness of racial hierarchy.
